Having his hand in 22 vintages now Angus Vinden has seen and worked with the Hunter's ups and downs for quite some time, 2018 to him is the best vintage he's seen for Shiraz yet, a growing season that has given us beautiful ripe fruit and natural acidity which will build these wines in to something incredibly special. So what does he do? Release three single barrel Shiraz's from different aspects of the Howard family's Somerset vineyard, Eastern Facing, North Facing and Western Facing. His acute understanding of this vineyard shines through in each expression.
From the horses mouth, "The Eastern Slope is was planted in 1966 on red volcanic clay soils, over limestone. Row direction is N-S. The lightest of the three. Elegant, perfumed & seductive "..well god, I'm sold.
