Vincent Caille is one of the absolute legends fighting the good fight and championing the region of Muscadet, slowly but surely converting people over to the truly amazing heights at which the area can produce, despite its sordid past. Vincent's fight is personal also though, his family, going back 5 generations in the region, have always been what you could call traditionalists for the area, seeing Muscadet as an appellation for super cheap table wines mostly sold at super markets and to farm accordingly, Vincent straight up said fuck that noise. He spent the 90s converting the family vineyards over to organics, undoing the damage that had been done to the vines and giving them a second chance in life to actually take advantage of the incredible lands they sat upon.
The La Parts du Colibris is Vincent's introduction to his estate in a way, this vibrant, summery little Folle Blanche showcases the minerality of the soils and the aromatics of the varietal and just greets you with a acid driven smile. Insanely good value and such a welcoming little wine.
