Neil has got to be one of the most enthusiastic producers in the country today when it comes to bio-dynamics, working tirelessly on his wine farm (as the South African's like him call it) in Gippsland in to some of the healthiest land-under-vine Australia currently boasts. The result of all his hard work? Insanely pure wines with both power and absolute accuracy.
The Farm Wine label presents some of his lighter touch, young drinking expressions and his Cabernet is perfectly in place there. Being a varietal that usually needs a shit tonne of heat and a dry-as-a-dead-dingos-dong growing season, Neil has seen success in his cool climate region in 2018 with just the right amount of warmth on his living red soils to put out an a-typical but immensely drinkable Cab, it's definitely not your Grand Dad's Cabernet but it's so worth checking out because it's not going to come about every year.
