This is honestly one of the most unique wines I've ever had, I've been absolutely obsessed with it for years now, year in year out it never ceases to get me giddy.
Suertes del Marques have been smashing out these unbelievable wines made with indigenous varietals to Tenerife in the Canary Islands for some bloody time now and it's a look at the pay off from working some of the most viticulturally challenging patches of dirt in the world. The ground in the Orotava Valley is all but pitch black and slate grey, it's volcanic soils turned up to 11 and that is what makes these wines kick, and I mean fucking kick.
The 7 Fuentes is a blend of Tintilla, Listán Negro, Baboso Negro and Malvasia Rosada (all grapes you're drinking on your average Tuesday right?). This is spice, this is smoke, this is depth, this is god damn bliss.
