Riley Harrison 'Fleur de la Lune' Grenache 2021

Ngadjuri Country / Krondorf & Vine Vale / Barossa Valley
The fruit was harvested by hand on an ascending moon. Sourced from two vineyards established in the 1940's and 1960's. 70% whole bunch ferment and very gentle hand plunging.
This grenache is characterised by its perfume; white flowers, ripe raspberry and a dusting of baker's spice. A subtle, savoury earthiness weaves purposefully through the silty, gypsum-like tannins to provide a framework to house the abundance of bright, red berry fruit.
As pretty as a flower, this wine is built for drinking.

A blend of two parcels (Krondorf and Vine Vale) that equates to a very fragrant and aromatic, elevated nose with sappy raspberry, bramble, strawberry and pink grapefruit, as well as some deeper, darker-berry tones, gentle herbs and some subtle earth and spice that will grow in time. The palate has assertive drive and cut and the early-picked crunchiness sets it up well. Builds raspberry, boysenberry and rich strawberry flavors. Smoothly honed tannins tuck in crisp at the finish. Drink over the next five years.
