Eduoard Vocoret is the seventh generation of winegrowers in his family. He studied wine in Montpellier, Beaune and Mâcon and moved to New Zealand in 2010 where he worked at Alan Scott Wines. This is where he met Eleni, his wife. After time spent working together in New Zealand a stint of travelling in Australia they returned to Chablis where they were eventually gifted five hectares of Chablis vines from Edouard's father so that the two could begin to make their own Chablis wines.
Eduoard and Eleni vinify all of there individual plots separately and bottle them as individual cuvees to express the terroirs of the sites.
The Les Pargues vineyard site has the same exposition as the premier crus, and should have been a premier cru like neighbouring Butteaux and Forêt. But when they did the AOC in 1938 this long lieu dit would have made too much 1er Cru vineyard, so they left it as Chablis.
However the wine itself tastes like a premier cru, it has an nervy energy on the palate and oodles of chalky minerality. The nose has a beautiful spice, white flowers and grapefruit nectar.
